Union Operator

As our business delivers its ambitious growth strategy, we are seeking a Union Operator to join our team at our New Castle, DE site.

You will perform all duties associated with the operational aspect of production, including receiving and charging raw materials, operating vessels, and extracting and packaging finished products in compliance with SHE guidelines, government regulations, cGMP, manufacturing packets, and process procedures.

Responsibilities

• Produce finished goods (80%):
  • Operate vessels and equipment following manufacturing procedures
  • Monitor temperature, pressure, charge, and discharge of raw materials/run boil outs
  • Sample product by following sampling procedures (take samples to lab, get results, adjust batch as necessary)
  • Record basic data on batch sheets
  • Package the product
• Handle and locate chemicals (10%):
  • Load and unload bulk/packaged materials (raw materials and finished products)
  • Drum product and repackage
  • Pick raw materials from storage and charge materials
  • Operate fork truck
• Conduct equipment maintenance (10%):
  • Prepare equipment for maintenance activities
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment
  • Follow established procedures to operate safely in an environmentally sound manner, including emergencies, start-up, shut down, and OSHA-related issues
  • Understand and use personal protective equipment
  • Partner with Operations to safely manage the site maintenance process
• Troubleshoot complex problems and provide advisory support in emergency situations

Requirements

• 3+ years of chemical operator experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic math skills (computation) and reading comprehension
• RCRA/Hazardous Waste Handler certification preferred
• Fork truck training and license preferred
• Safety training preferred
