Union NJ4S Hub Director
About the role
The NJ Statewide Student Support Services (NJ4S) network includes 15 regional hubs that deliver prevention services in schools and other youth-friendly community locations such as libraries, community centers, faith-based organizations, and family success centers. The Hub Director provides overall leadership and accountability for an NJ4S Hub, initiating and sustaining strategic relationships with school districts, administrators, and community partners to ensure access to NJ4S services and collaborative partnerships that support student well-being. The Director establishes strategy, leads community-based needs assessment efforts, ensures alignment with NJ4S expectations, and makes final decisions regarding the selection and refinement of evidence-based programs. The Director also oversees Advisory Group recruitment and co-facilitates meetings to support inclusive, data-informed decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, implement, and direct the overall operation of the NJ4S Hub.
- Develop and implement operational procedures and provide fiscal oversight of the Hub.
- Develop regular forums for communication with local partners and stakeholders and deliver programming responsive to community needs.
- Serve as the primary public-facing representative of the NJ4S program, communicating the program’s mission, services, outcomes, and value to schools, community organizations, funders, government partners, families, and other stakeholders.
- Communicate confidently and effectively with individuals at all organizational levels, from frontline staff to executive leadership and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop ideas and implement strategies that address community challenges.
- Lead the development of the Hub’s Advisory Group.
Essential duties
- Selecting Evidence-Based Programs
- Develop and implement community-based needs assessment processes aligned with NJ4S.
- Oversee analysis of needs assessment findings, including use of disaggregated data and DCF data.
- Ensure selected programs align with identified service gaps and complement existing community services.
- Support staff in clearly communicating NJ4S offerings to participants, school partners, and community stakeholders.
- Engage program developers and partners regarding adaptation while maintaining fidelity standards.
- Make final decisions regarding adoption, continuation, modification, or discontinuation of programs.
- Ensure systems are in place to monitor fidelity, outcomes, and student experience.
- Convene and Sustain Advisory Groups
- Establish expectations for Advisory Group representation, governance, and engagement.
- Approve Advisory Group charter and ensure alignment with Hub priorities.
- Ensure Advisory Group and youth council input informs program decisions.
- Promote inclusive facilitation, data-informed dialogue, and professional development opportunities for Advisory Group members.
Program leadership
- Ensure all team members receive proper onboarding and offboarding.
- Ensure all team members receive appropriate training.
- Supervise team by providing direction, input, and performance feedback in real time.
- Coordinate the delivery of services among different program activities to increase effectiveness and efficiency.
- Work collaboratively with the NJ4S Hudson HUB Leadership Team at Prevention Links.

Required Prevention Links duties and responsibilities
- Perform work responsibilities in various locations.
- Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Be sensitive, flexible, and responsive to gender, race, ethnicity, socio-economic status, religion, age, sexual orientation, or any other special needs as reflected in the ability to communicate with staff and/or clients.
- Be proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and possess basic computer skills; knowledge of Salesforce is a plus.
- Be available to attend weekend and evening meetings and events as required.
- Work both independently and in a team environment.
- Possess the time management skills necessary to organize and manage multiple priorities and tasks.
- Be authorized to work in the U.S. and New Jersey.
- Serve as a representative of Prevention Links, upholding the agency’s expectation of excellence and collaboration.
- Maintain an understanding of all programs, grants, and projects offered by Prevention Links.
- Adhere to Prevention Links administrative, reporting, and recordkeeping guidelines to support accurate documentation of activities.
- Participate in all agency-required training.
- Be able to speak and write English.
- Be able to walk, stand, and sit for long periods of time.
- Be able to lift 25 pounds.
- Possess a valid New Jersey Driver’s License and an independent mode of transportation.
Education and experience
- Preferred candidates will have a master’s degree in a related field (e.g., counseling, public administration, social work, etc.), with at least ten years’ experience managing large-scale programs that support youth, families, or school faculty, five years of which shall be in a supervisory capacity.
- Prior experience implementing evidence-based treatment and prevention programs is strongly preferred.
- Valid New Jersey driver’s license, safe driving record, and vehicle availability are required.
- This full-time position may require domestic travel; local, independent travel is required.
- Must be available evenings and weekends as needed to meet contract deliverables.
Salary
$85,000 – $90,000 per year
