About the Role

Operates, inspects, and maintains all HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment and systems in assigned facilities to achieve efficient operation and maximize equipment life expectancy. Ensures equipment is maintained in an energy-efficient, safe manner, minimizing downtime by anticipating necessary repairs and maintaining records of past operating experiences. Performs inspections and repairs to interior and exterior areas of assigned properties, including walls, flooring, installed fixtures, roofing systems, and lighting.

This position is covered under the Collective Bargaining Agreement between JLL and the International Union of Operating Engineers – Local 39.

Responsibilities

  • Perform ongoing preventive and repair response work orders on facility mechanical, electrical, and other installed systems, equipment, and components.
  • Maintain, operate, and repair all HVAC systems and associated equipment, electrical distribution equipment, plumbing systems, building interior/exterior repair, and related grounds.
  • Conduct facility inspections and due diligence efforts, reporting conditions that impact client occupancy and operations.
  • Respond effectively to all emergencies.
  • Prepare and submit summary reports to management, detailing conditions found during work and recommending actions.
  • Study and become familiar with building automation systems, fire/life safety systems, and other building-related equipment.
  • Comply with all safety procedures, maintain good housekeeping, and ensure safety in work areas; identify and propose methods to eliminate hazards.
  • Maintain compliance with State, County, or City Ordinances, Codes, or Laws.
  • Support after-hours building-related activities as required.
  • Attend periodic training seminars.
  • Perform other assigned operational tasks typical of the Mobile Engineer role.

Candidate will be provided with tools required to perform assigned work scope.

Requirements

  • Valid state driver’s license.
  • Type II EPA 608 Certification (required).
  • Minimum of four (4) years of technical experience in building engineering, with a strong background in HVAC, plumbing, and electrical equipment repair and maintenance.
  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs. and climb ladders up to 30 ft.
  • Ability to perform on-call duties and work overtime as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Universal EPA 608 Certification.
  • Knowledge of MEP/HVAC system design and application.
  • Experience managing work orders using CMMS technology.
  • Experience working in a service-related role specific to commercial facilities.
