Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair commercial building systems and mechanical equipment
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, and industrial mechanical systems
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and respond to maintenance requests
- Inspect facility equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability
- Document maintenance activities using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- Maintain compliance with safety procedures, GMP requirements, and facility operating standards
- Repair or replace components including belts, bearings, valves, filters, gaskets, pumps, motors, and related equipment
- Assist with operation and maintenance of:
- Chillers and refrigeration systems
- Cooling towers and condensers
- Air handling units and variable air volume (VAV) systems
- Pumps, compressors, and heat exchangers
- Steam and condensate systems
- Water distribution and drainage systems
- Fans, motors, generators, and associated mechanical equipment
- Work collaboratively with other skilled trades and facility professionals to maintain campus operations
Requirements
- 5+ years of facilities maintenance, building engineering, HVAC, mechanical maintenance, or related skilled trades experience
- Experience maintaining commercial or industrial mechanical systems
- Current Connecticut D2 or S2 License
- Experience troubleshooting HVAC and refrigeration equipment
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs and repair practices
- Experience using a CMMS preferred
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Valid driver's license
- High School Diploma or GED
Physical Requirements
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Work on ladders, lifts, and scaffolding
- Stand, walk, kneel, crouch, and perform physical maintenance activities throughout the shift
