About the role
Arrow Building Center, Lampert Lumber and Lyman Lumber Companies, divisions of US LBM, provides a wide range of building materials to construction professionals. Responsibilities
- Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
- Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.
- Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies.
- Verifies specifications by measuring completed components.
- Solves assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources.
- Maintains equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
- Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Works in a safe manner, always providing a safe work environment.
Requirements
- Minimum Education and/or Certification: High School diploma or equivalent.
- Required Experience / Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age or older; Basic Math Skills; Manufacturing, mill shop, construction, and carpentry experience (preferred); Experience positioning parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements; Possesses carpentry skills and knowledge of working carpentry tools; Self-motivated with the ability to work well under pressure; Team player with the aptitude for multi-tasking, meeting deadlines, and building relationships with team members, vendors, and customers; Detail oriented; Demonstrates initiative and flexibility; Strong problem-solving skills and effective time management; Ability to stand for 8-10+ hour work shifts; Willing to train the right candidate!
