Union Assembler - 2nd Shift

Responsibilities

• Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
• Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.
• Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies.
• Verifies specifications by measuring completed components.
• Solves assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources.
• Maintains equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
• Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
• Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Works in a safe manner, always providing a safe work environment.

Requirements

• Minimum Education and/or Certification: High School diploma or equivalent.
• Required Experience / Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age or older; Basic Math Skills; Manufacturing, mill shop, construction, and carpentry experience (preferred); Experience positioning parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements; Possesses carpentry skills and knowledge of working carpentry tools; Self-motivated with the ability to work well under pressure; Team player with the aptitude for multi-tasking, meeting deadlines, and building relationships with team members, vendors, and customers; Detail oriented; Demonstrates initiative and flexibility; Strong problem-solving skills and effective time management; Ability to stand for 8-10+ hour work shifts; Willing to train the right candidate!
