Underwriting Technician

Responsibilities

• Participates with underwriters in new business activities that support underwriting decisions consistent with growth and profitability goals
• Partners with underwriters to identify and gather account information required to quote, bind, and issue policies
• Manages account documentation and processing, including premium audits, endorsements, cancellations, and non-renewals
• Handles policy maintenance and other midterm servicing requests; follows up on outstanding information
• Develops and maintains strong relationships with brokers through regular communication; resolves issues as needed
• Provides general administrative support and performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field strongly preferred; equivalent work experience considered in lieu of a degree
• Minimum of 1+ years of underwriting or related insurance experience is required
• Builders Risk experience and/or basic understanding of property insurance concepts preferred

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently
• Ability to analyze, synthesize, and apply large volumes of information
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
