Underwriting Specialist OR Executive Underwriter - Middle Market

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Market Facing Property & Casualty Underwriter to join our team in Maitland, FL or as a virtual candidate within the State of Florida. This role involves serving as a customer advocate, focusing on improving customer experience by understanding unique risks and providing the best end-to-end solutions for Property & Casualty insurance needs. Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining relationships with broker partners and customers, leveraging underwriting acumen for risk assessment, exposure evaluation, and pricing, and collaborating across various business units.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a customer advocate with a focus on improving customer experience
• Develop and maintain relationships with broker partners and customers across all industries
• Leverage Property and Casualty underwriting acumen for risk assessment, exposure evaluation, and pricing
• Collaborate with teams including claims, finance, risk engineering, actuary, and technical underwriting
• Grow and develop relationships with preferred distribution partners in an assigned territory

Requirements

• Underwriting or Market Facing experience (3+ years)
• Claims or Underwriting Support experience (6+ years)
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an Associate Degree (1+ years)
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an Associate Degree (4+ years)
• Knowledge of line/s of business and legal/regulatory guidelines
• Experience with Microsoft Office
• Experience working on time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business
• Experience working in a team environment

Qualifications

• Underwriting or Market Facing experience (5+ years)
• Claims or Underwriting Support experience (10+ years)
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an Associate Degree (3+ years)
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an Associate Degree (8+ years)
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Experience working on time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business
• Experience working in a team environment

Pay

Your pay at Zurich is based on your role, location, skills, and experience. The combined salary range for this position is $75,000.00 - $165,000.00. The proposed salary range for the Underwriting Specialist is $75,000.00 - $125,000.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 10%. The proposed salary range for the Executive Underwriter is $100,000.00 - $165,000.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 15%.
