We are looking for a commercial property expert for a Monoline Property underwriting role. This role includes both new‑business production and renewal management. Our Middle Market Property unit utilizes a proprietary property form and writes ground‑up, full‑limit property structures. As an underwriter you will directly underwrite, service, and grow a book focused on Real Estate, Hospitality, Manufacturing, Healthcare, and Wholesale Distribution businesses. Underwriters are responsible for marketing to assigned brokers, working closely with the property product team and package underwriters to drive profitable growth.

Responsibilities

• Establish relationships with key trading partners and drive submission activity across assigned brokers.
• Be responsible for profit, growth, and retention of the assigned book.
• Meet or exceed new‑business production goals while maintaining profitability across the portfolio and adhering to authority and strategies.
• Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and brokers to retain key renewals and lead coordination of Risk Services & Claims Service plans for key accounts.
• Develop, advance, and execute a prospect pipeline with trading partners, and engage other business units for cross‑selling opportunities.

Requirements

• Understanding of Property Insurance coverage, terms, and conditions.
• Presentation and public speaking skills.
• Strong negotiation skills and sales acumen.
• Confidence to gain marketplace presence and become a trusted advisor for assigned agents/brokers.
• Knowledge of current insurance marketplace conditions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• 5+ years of underwriting experience, preferably in the Middle Market Monoline Property segment or a multiline background.
• Understanding and adherence to organizational and regulatory rules, with the ability to follow underwriting authority.

Pay

Base salary range: $133,300 – $207,000 per year. Position is incentive‑eligible, with total individual compensation (base salary, short‑ and long‑term incentives) determined by factors such as geographic location, scope and responsibilities, qualifications, talent availability, specialization, and business needs. The pay range may be modified in the future.
