Responsibilities
- Leading the team of underwriters in driving premium, rate, and profitability goals
- Achieving premium, rate and profitability goals
- Aiding in refining and updating the Underwriting Guidelines
- Training, coaching and developing team members
- Participating in the sourcing, interviewing and hiring of new team members
- Driving broker engagement strategies to enhance new business growth and renewal retention
- Applying analytics to distribution management
- Maintaining own book of business
Qualifications
- A minimum of 5+ years’ commercial lines underwriting experience
- Experience in and understanding of the E&S competitive marketplace
- Demonstrated technical expertise and product knowledge in Manufacturing and Products
- A drive to be creative and innovative in advancing the success of the assigned team/region
- A willingness to challenge the status quo and embrace change
- A strong desire to compete – and to win
