Underwriting Manager

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and evaluate underwriting staff to ensure high performance and engagement.
• Manage underwriting activities for new business, renewals, rescission reviews, and policy issuance.
• Make final risk decisions and support employee growth through training and development.
• Establish relationships with sales and external stakeholders to support business needs.
• Review claims and approval processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Identify workflow improvements and analyze data for operational efficiency.

Qualifications & Skills

• A high school diploma or equivalent; college coursework preferred.
• At least 5 years of supervisory or management experience.
• Experience in Small Group and Data Base Underwriting.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
