About the role

The Underwriting Manager leads underwriting operations and supports responsible loan growth across Credit Union of Denver's lending portfolio. They provide oversight, guidance, and coaching to underwriting staff while ensuring credit decisions are consistent, compliant, and aligned with the credit union's mission.

Responsibilities

  • Lead underwriting operations to support consistent, sound, and compliant credit decisions
  • Guide business development efforts that balance risk management with member-focused growth and strong relationships
  • Support high-volume third-party indirect lending operations
  • Spread tax returns, review P&Ls, and analyze cash flows for commercial/business underwriting
  • Ensure compliance with lending regulations and financial products/services

Requirements

  • Experience supporting direct and indirect loan growth, including high-volume third-party indirect lending
  • Strong knowledge of consumer, business, and real estate underwriting
  • Preferred experience in commercial/business underwriting, including tax return spreading, P&L review, and cash flow analysis
  • Knowledge of lending regulations and financial products/services
  • 3–5 years of related experience

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field
  • Professional certifications in lending or finance preferred

Skills

  • Strong leadership and coaching skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

Pay

$101,500 - $115,000/year

Schedule

Exempt Position, Monday-Friday 8 AM-5 PM, Rotating Saturdays, 8 AM-1PM
