Underwriting Consultant

FCCI is guided by the core values of Loyalty, Integrity, Vision, Excellence and Service. We seek an underwriting consultant with strong technical experience to join our Corporate Underwriting Team. The ideal candidate will have subject matter expertise in a line of business or industry segment in the commercial middle market space.
Responsibilities
- Create and ensure adherence to risk appetite, risk selection, coverage analysis, underwriting guidelines and underwriting authority for assigned line(s) of business.
- Establish and ensure consistency in underwriting and pricing decisions and enhance monitoring standards to assess underwriting results at the portfolio level.
- Provide subject matter expertise and support for complex referrals.
- Acquire and leverage market intelligence to compare to peers and ensure a competitive fit for our agency customers.
- Work with Product leadership to develop new product ideas and review coverage language.
- Assist in underwriting governance by participating in underwriting audits, monitoring exception thresholds, and working with regional management on improvement plans.
Requirements
This position will be located preferably in our Sarasota, FL corporate office with a hybrid schedule (2 days remote/3 days in office). Other location options include Lake Mary, FL; Lawrenceville, GA; Richardson, TX; Carmel, IN; Richmond, VA; and Ridgeland, MS.
Qualifications
- Subject matter expertise in a line of business or industry segment in the commercial middle market space.
- Strong technical experience in underwriting.
- Ability to establish and maintain risk appetite and underwriting guidelines.
- Experience with market intelligence and competitive analysis.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $114,640 - $176,546 annually. This salary range is an estimate and the actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Schedule
This position will be a hybrid schedule with 2 days remote and 3 days in office. Location options include Sarasota, FL; Lake Mary, FL; Lawrenceville, GA; Richardson, TX; Carmel, IN; Richmond, VA; and Ridgeland, MS.
