Underwriting Associate

Responsibilities

• Assist and support underwriters with quoting, rating and issuance of new business, renewals and endorsements.
• Respond to problem situations from brokers and perform customer service tasks as needed.
• Process quotes and issuing policies in policy issuance system in accordance with established procedures.
• Ensure policies are issued based upon the terms and conditions outlined in binders.
• Participate as needed in systems and workflow development as required.
• Maintain daily workload to determine if established timelines are obtainable and work with management as issues arise.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• 2-3 years of experience in commercial multi-line rating
• Strong knowledge of insurance and policy issuance systems
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively
• Strong customer service orientation & teamwork collaboration skills
• Excellent decision making skills required
• Knowledge of AMS Rackley is a plus
• Experience working in a paperless environment is preferred
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Demonstrated accountability and ability to adjust to new situations and changing priorities with minimal impact to daily responsibilities
