Underwriter Trainee - DBA

Job Summary

The Underwriter Trainee is an entry level role aimed at learning underwriting skills and account management responsibilities, including working with the broker community.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform account analysis according to Allied World guidelines
• Develop account pricing/structure/make recommendations
• Prepare quotes, binders, underwriting worksheets within company guidelines
• Maintain files in an orderly manner consistent with company guidelines
• Attend client meetings, lunches, dinners, and other outings as applicable
• Market to brokers within assigned region and engage in production meetings
• Work with legal department for manuscript wording analysis and preparation as needed
• Interact with senior management on referral items

Qualifications

• University / Undergraduate degree required
• Ability to work independently in a fast paced, high pressure environment
• 0-3 years of experience in underwriting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
• Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail and quantitative skills
• Able to work to deadlines and prioritize tasks
• Willingness to travel for client meetings and broker visits throughout the assigned region

Pay

The salary range for this role is between: $70,000
