A Brief Overview
Argo Group is an underwriter of specialty insurance products in the property and casualty market. This role supports the Environmental line of business and involves marketing, underwriting, and processing assigned lines of business.
Primary Duties And Responsibilities
- Underwrite and analyze renewal submissions.
- Ensure marketing initiatives are achieved and consistent communication of products and services to appointed brokers.
- Assist regional manager and product leaders in developing existing broker relations and establishing new relationships to attract business opportunities.
- Develop and maintain a submission pipeline to achieve overall production and business mix objectives.
Core Qualifications And Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university plus at least one year of underwriting or equivalent experience and education required.
- Strong computer skills, proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Excellent organization, strong analytical, oral, and written communication skills required.
- The ability to meet tight deadlines is essential.
- Strong customer service and teamwork skills and a professional attitude needed.
- Must be able to quickly evaluate the accuracy of data and information.
- Ability to interact and communicate with various levels of the organization to cross-sell or address processing requirements.
- Ability to work independently with guidance and procedures provided.
- Actively participate in client and broker meetings, as required.
- Use market contacts to bring in new business, gather and share market intelligence, and cross-sell various products.
- Participate in special projects and assignments as requested.
Pay And Benefits
- Richmond Pay Range: $71,706 - $84,558
- Chicago Pay Range: $78,846 - $92,820
- Los Angeles and New York City Pay Range: $85,986 - $101,286
