Underwriter, Excess Casualty

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform account analysis according to Allied World (US) General Casualty guidelines
• Develop account pricing/structure/make recommendations
• Perform and document referrals
• Prepare quotes, binders, underwriting worksheets within company guidelines
• Maintain files in an orderly manner consistent with company guidelines
• Delegate and supervise work to Account Coordinators as needed
• Attend Client meetings, lunches, dinners, and other social outings as applicable
• Market to brokers within assigned region and engage production meetings
• Work with Legal department for manuscript wording analysis and preparation as needed
• Able to interact with senior management on referral items
• Help and assist team underwriting efforts with projects and underwriting notes

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

• At least 5 years of relevant experience in insurance underwriting
• Strong analytical skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Knowledge of construction, real estate, and products liability risks

Pay

The salary range for this role is between $80,000 - $120,000 annually.
