Responsibilities
- Underwrite individual insurance applications to cover property and casualty within guidelines for issuing policies on a standard or substandard basis.
- Determine whether to accept, modify, or decline a risk through evaluation of the property's value, location, usage, safety features, and other pertinent information.
- Maintain frequent contact with the field to gather information on which to base and defend underwriting decisions.
- Provide support to Senior Underwriters in servicing and managing accounts.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 2 years of related experience.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications and Microsoft Office.
