About the role
As an Underwriter Assistant, you will support an Underwriter by reviewing applications, evaluating risk, creating quotes, and processing new and renewal business. No prior insurance experience is required—Bass Underwriters provides the tools and mentorship to help you succeed.
Responsibilities
- Review applications
- Evaluate risks
- Research carrier guidelines
- Interface with agents and insurance carriers
- Process and service new and renewal business
- Network with current agents to cultivate relationships and seek new opportunities
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (Business, Finance, Economics, Risk Management & Insurance, or related major or equivalent experience preferred)
- Strong customer orientation, excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong problem analysis and resolution skills
- Ability to prioritize and respond to complex issues
- Detail-oriented with strong multitasking abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable navigating websites and databases
- Highly motivated with a positive, outgoing personality
- Entrepreneurial spirit and service mentality
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment

Pay
Starting salary of $54,000 per year plus bonus opportunities.
