Underground Instrumentation Technician
for each section. Use - for lists. Use
for prose.
We must not repeat job title as heading. No Job ID. Remove boilerplate like EEO etc. Also remove navigation, cookie, legal, duplicated lines.
We need to preserve all substantive information. Let's extract:
- Intro paragraph about lifestyle etc maybe not needed? It's part of job description but could be considered fluff but it's substantive? It's about location lifestyle. Could be included as a paragraph before sections? The instruction: output only HTML fragment; we can include a
for that intro if we want, but not required. It's not a section heading. It's okay to include as a
before sections.
But we must not invent or summarize away detail. So we should keep that intro paragraph: "Enjoy the lifestyle that comes with living and working in Salt Lake City, with world-class skiing, hiking, mountain biking, fishing, and national parks all within easy reach.Achieve a strong work-life balance while building a long-term career, supported by competitive benefits, development opportunities, and a team-focused culture.Join Rio Tinto at an exciting time for copper, a critical material supporting electrification, renewable energy, digital infrastructure, and the technologies shaping the future." Actually there are missing spaces; but we keep as is.
Then "At Rio Tinto, we are committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming workplace..." That's also intro but could be considered boilerplate? It's about values; maybe keep as part of intro.
But we need to avoid EEO boilerplate later. The later "Respect and Inclusion" section is EEO boilerplate; we should remove.
Thus we keep early paragraphs up to "About The Role". Then we have About The Role heading? Actually the posting includes "About The Role" as a heading. According to rules, we should use
for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule). So we should make a heading About the Role
and then the prose under it.
But note: The instructions: "Do NOT repeat the job title as a heading (the page already shows it)". So we can use About the Role heading.
Thus structure:
Intro paragraphs (maybe combine first few paragraphs up to before About The Role). Then
About the Role
description paragraph(s). Then responsibilities list: we have bullet points after "Working collaboratively with operational and functional teams, you will be responsible for" then list items. So we can make
Responsibilities
- ... etc.
Then About You section: we can split into Requirements, Qualifications, Skills maybe. But we need to decide based on content. The posting has "About You" with bullet list of items: commitment to safety, technical trade degree, proven track record, experience with control systems, instrumentation, PLCs, industrial communication, strong knowledge of instrumentation systems in heavy industry, familiarity with industry standards, safety practices, control system design, ability to read technical documentation, strong troubleshooting and decision-making skills, effective communication, planning, organizational abilities, mining or underground experience is an asset, knowledge of IP networking is an asset.
We could treat these as Requirements (or Qualifications). Since we have separate headings for Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, we need to allocate content appropriately without inventing. The instruction: "Prefer a few substantive sections over many thin ones." So maybe we just use one section like
Requirements
with the list. Or we could split into Requirements (education/experience) and Skills (technical). But to avoid thin sections, we can combine into Requirements.
Thus we will have:
Requirements
- ... items.
Then Benefits: we have "What We Offer" list. So
Benefits
- ... items.
Pay: we have "Competitive base salary reflective of your skills and experience with an annual incentive bonus." That's a short statement; we can put in
Pay
Competitive base salary reflective of your skills and experience with an annual incentive bonus.
Schedule: not present, omit.
We also have location info "Where you'll be working..." Could be a section but not in prescribed headings; we could include as a under maybe no heading. But we could incorporate into intro or as a separate
without heading. The instruction: "Output ONLY the HTML fragment". It didn't forbid extra paragraphs without headings. So we can add a
for location after benefits maybe.
We must not include boilerplate like "Respect and Inclusion" etc.
Thus final HTML:
Enjoy the lifestyle that comes with living and working in Salt Lake City, with world-class skiing, hiking, mountain biking, fishing, and national parks all within easy reach.Achieve a strong work-life balance while building a long-term career, supported by competitive benefits, development opportunities, and a team-focused culture.Join Rio Tinto at an exciting time for copper, a critical material supporting electrification, renewable energy, digital infrastructure, and the technologies shaping the future. At Rio Tinto, we are committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming workplace where everyone feels safe, respected, and able to succeed. Responsibilities
- Troubleshooting and maintaining PLCs, control systems, and electrical equipment to support reliable operation

Pay
Competitive base salary reflective of your skills and experience with an annual incentive bonus.
Where you'll be working Our Kennecott mine is a world-class, fully integrated copper mining operation, including a concentrator, smelter, and refinery, located just outside Salt Lake City, Utah, in the United States. We produce copper, precious metals including gold and silver, molybdenum, and sulfuric acid. Kennecott has been mining and processing minerals from the rich ore body of the Bingham Canyon Mine since 1903 and is one of the top producing mines in the world, comprising approximately 11 percent of U.S. annual copper production.
We need to ensure no duplicate content: Pay paragraph repeats benefits line; but it's okay as it's specific. Could we avoid duplication? The benefit list already includes "Competitive base salary reflective of your skills and experience with an annual incentive bonus." So Pay section would duplicate. Perhaps better to not duplicate; we could omit Pay section and rely on benefits. But the instruction: include Pay section only if posting actually states them. It does state competitive base salary etc. But we already have that in benefits. However we could still include Pay but maybe rephrase to avoid duplication? The instruction says preserve ALL substantive information; not to invent or summarize away detail. Duplicating is not prohibited but could be considered redundant. However it's okay to repeat? Might be considered unnecessary but not wrong. However "Prefer a few substantive sections over many thin ones." Having Pay separate may be thin. Better to incorporate pay into Benefits and not have separate Pay section. Since benefits already includes that line, we can drop Pay section.
Thus we will not include Pay heading.
We also have Schedule none.
Thus final sections: About the Role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Benefits. Plus intro paragraphs and location paragraph.
Check for any other substantive content: "About Rio Tinto" description maybe could be kept as a paragraph but it's somewhat boilerplate but still substantive about company. Could include as a after intro? It's not EEO. It's about Rio Tinto purpose etc. Might be okay to keep. But to avoid too many sections, we can just include as a paragraph after
