Underground Field Electrician

About the role

Swick Drilling North America is seeking a highly skilled certified electrician to safely perform diagnostic, maintenance, and repair of underground mobile drill equipment and light vehicles. The role involves applying electrical theory in troubleshooting, using math skills, and interpreting technical data sheets, schematics, blueprints, and instructional guides. The Field Electrician will assist with timely maintenance and repair of surface and underground equipment to ensure maximum quality and efficiency, as well as training and implementing diagnostic knowledge for operations and other personnel.

This position qualifies for a $10,000 Sign-On Bonus.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain, troubleshoot, and fault-find on underground equipment, including high voltage and control circuitry, to ensure safe and optimal operation.
• Participate in ordering and maintaining relevant parts and stock.
• Develop, train, and supervise junior Maintenance team members in a technical capacity.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and report all relevant safety hazards.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of previous experience in the mining industry or heavy industrial sector.
• Current Journeyman’s License.
• Current Driver’s License.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematic drawings.
• Hydraulic and mechanical aptitude.

Qualifications

• Desirable: Advanced hydraulic schematic diagnostic ability.
