Underground Field Electrician

Swick Drilling North America is seeking a highly skilled certified electrician to safely perform diagnostic, maintenance, and repair of underground mobile drill equipment and light vehicles. The role requires the ability to understand and apply electrical theory in troubleshooting, demonstrate math skills, and comprehend and interpret technical data sheets, schematics, blueprints, and instructional guides.

About the role

The Field Electrician will assist with timely maintenance and repair of all surface and underground equipment on site to ensure maximum quality and efficiencies. They will also assist with training and implementation of specific diagnostic knowledge to operations and other personnel. This position qualifies for a $10,000 Sign-On Bonus.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain, troubleshoot, and fault-find on underground equipment, including high voltage and control circuitry, to ensure safe and optimal operation.
• Participate in ordering and maintenance of relevant parts and stock.
• Develop, train, and supervise junior Maintenance team members in a technical capacity.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and report all relevant safety hazards.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of previous experience in the mining industry or heavy industrial sector.
• Current Journeyman’s License.
• Current Driver’s License.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematic drawings.
• Hydraulic and mechanical aptitude.

Qualifications

• Desirable: Advanced hydraulic schematic diagnostic ability.
