Underground Construction Laborer - Fiber

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Inspect/test the installed underground conduit to make sure it is clear and usable before fiber installation.
• Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards.
• Assist crew members with construction work as required.
• Operate compressors and missiles.
• Load, transport, and unload tools, materials, and equipment in a safe manner.
• Dig trenches and remove, fill, or compact earth.
• Mix ingredients to create compounds for covering or cleaning surfaces.
• Absorb and place conduit and cables.
• Maintain equipment.
• Perform site clean-up.
• Complete all required Company documentation.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years old, have a valid driver license with clean driving record.
• Self-motivated with ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Demonstrated ability to interact effectively and cooperatively with coworkers.
• Must have the ability to exert heavy physical effort, lift heavy physical objects, kneel, crouch, balance, climb or crawl.
• Frequently use hand tools, pneumatic tools (tampers, compactors, 60 & 90lb jackhammer, chipping hammer).
• Must have the ability to assist in the installation of conduit, hand holes, vaults, manholes and cable.
• Must pass a Drug Test & Background Check.

Additional Information

Pay range: $21-$24/hr. DOE
