Duties and Responsibilities
- On a weekly basis carefully, efficiently, and objectively review assigned first-year applications (up to 100-125 a week during peak season, no more than 25 hours a week) to meet weekly quotas and key deadlines;
- Participate in a rigorous and detailed training session(s), approximately 3 to 5 hours in October;
- Regularly meet/communicate with their OUA leader.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree;
- Must own a personal computer (preferably from within the last five years) with stable and secure high-speed internet access;
- Be a strong, self-motivated reader, possessing keen attention to detail, with the ability to work independently to meet weekly requirements of file reading volume;
- Successful completion of background checks;
- Candidates may not currently be working directly with high school students (i.e. as high school teachers, school counselors or independent consultants), be employed at another undergraduate institution in admissions or be a parent/guardian of a high school senior applying to Villanova.
Preferred Qualifications
- Candidates who have worked in an admission office (ideally selective and holistic);
- Prior experience working/volunteering with community-based organizations;
- Experience with enrollment management software such as Slate.
Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours
- Schedule is set by individual readers, but must be available at some point during the week to meet with assigned OUA staff member during regular office hours.
