7:30 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Applicants must be local residents available full-time or part-time (7:30 AM – 3:30 PM or 4:00 PM). Part-time roles qualify for benefits after 32 hours per week.

Responsibilities

- Customer Service: Provide world-class service and sales to internal and external customers. Greet every customer with “bonjour,” engage verbally, and sell through product knowledge and suggestive selling. Demonstrate pride, friendliness, energy, and enthusiasm in all work.
- Product Knowledge: Actively demonstrate knowledge of bread, pastry, baked goods, coffee, cheese, and specialty goods to enable effective sales, up-selling, sampling, pairing, and merchandising.
- Prepare and maintain a minimum of 3 product samples at all times.
- Correctly time out products during shift.
- Follow the CARE acronym and greet customers within 15 seconds.
- Operate the register accurately and efficiently.
- Ensure accuracy in cash handling, including invoicing, special orders, deposits, change orders, petty cash, register accuracy, gift certificates, donations, and cooking classes.
- Complete a store merchandising walk-through within the first 30 minutes of shift.
- Receive, manage, and follow through on special orders.
- Merchandise products to La Farm standards, including proper signage, samples, packaging, and labeling.
- Maintain the coffee station: ensure full, fresh hot coffee; stock fresh cold creams, condiments, and packaging; keep the area clean and organized.
- Perform proper product rotation and quality control.
- Answer the phone to La Farm standards.
- Distribute cookies to “cookie eaters.”
- Complete daily checklists and tray outs.
- Follow the production schedule: ensure items listed are available for sale and record out-of-stock or leftover amounts.
- Communicate with production staff regarding out-of-stock items and excessive leftovers.
- Bake breads, cookies, and prep tarts as needed for retail sales.
- Announce bread sales loudly (“Hawk bread”).
- Maintain overall unit safety and sanitation, aiming for a grade “A” or better by exceeding health inspection standards.
- Uphold company standards and policies for opening and closing procedures.
- Ensure safe working conditions and comply with all applicable laws.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Exceptional customer service skills and a demonstrated sense of urgency to serve every customer.
- Experience in customer service, food service, or high-end retail preferred.
- Cash handling and sales experience preferred.
- Ability to solve business-related problems quickly and efficiently.
- Strong relationship-building skills and a positive, team-oriented demeanor.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask.
- Flexibility required: weekends and holidays are mandatory; two non-consecutive days off per week.
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships.
Physical Demands
- Ability to bend and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
