About the role

The ideal candidate must hold a DPSST Private Security Certification issued by the Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST).

Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible security presence to deter unwanted activity and promote a safe environment
• Monitor customer flow, dining areas, parking lots, and surrounding property
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, or safety concerns in a calm and professional manner
• Support store management with policy enforcement and conflict de-escalation
• Document incidents, observations, and daily activity reports accurately
• Auxiliary officer responsibilities include assisting customers and employees with general inquiries and safety-related needs
• Communicate effectively with management, law enforcement, and security leadership when required

Requirements

• At least 21 years of age or older.
• Must have a minimum of 2 years of security experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have DPSST Private Security Certification.
• Prior security, customer service, or retail experience preferred
• Familiarity with report writing
• Basic computer skills
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong communication and de-escalation skills
• Ability to remain professional and composed in high-traffic or stressful situations
• Must be able to multitask and prioritize assigned tasks
• Comfortable with outdoor environment in diverse weather conditions
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
• Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods
• Must successfully pass pre-employment background check.

Schedule & Work Environment

Schedule & Work Environment: Fast-paced retail/restaurant setting, indoor and outdoor patrols may be required, Second shifts available, including evenings and weekends.
