Job Skills / Requirements

• Current DCJS Security Officer Certification
• Reliability
• Strong communication skills
• Sound judgment in a school setting
• Former law enforcement officers, military veterans, and experienced security professionals are highly encouraged to apply

Responsibilities

• Maintain access control to ensure a safe and secure environment
• Interact professionally and reassuringly with students, staff, and visitors
• Conduct patrols to deter and detect potential safety or security concerns
• Respond promptly to alarms, incidents, or requests for assistance
• Communicate with school staff, law enforcement, and TriCorps management regarding safety issues or incidents
• Prepare detailed reports of daily activity, observations, and incidents
• Support emergency procedures and assist during drills or crisis situations

• Maintain a professional appearance, demeanor, and attitude
• Remain alert and observant throughout each shift
• Communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
• Demonstrate calm judgment and professionalism in all interactions
• Follow all client and TriCorps guidelines

Education Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
