Unarmed Security Officer

This position is for an Unarmed Security Officer at a high-volume distribution and warehouse facility in Hazelton Mills, PA (commutable from Wilkes-Barre and surrounding areas). You will play a critical role protecting people, property, and high-value products in a secure environment that demands the highest level of professionalism, attention to detail, reliability, and strong work ethic.

Schedule

• Shift: 3rd Shift
• Work days: Saturday through Wednesday
• Hours: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Days off: Thursday, Friday
• Hours per week: 40
• Employment type: Full-time
• Starting pay: $17.50 per hour

Responsibilities

• Rover: Conduct foot or vehicle patrols to detect suspicious behavior and prevent vandalism, theft, or other criminal activity.
• Gatehouse: Greet truck drivers and guests, check identification, log visitor vehicles, announce visitors, and control access to the property.
• Front desk: Acknowledge and greet all guests with courtesy and urgency; provide customer service, access control, monitor CCTV camera systems, announce visitors, and distribute packages.
• Device check: Scan tags on approved employee devices; verify IMEI numbers match provided stickers or paperwork.
• North dock: Monitor trash dump for theft attempts, open and close dock doors, track outbound trucks, count pallets for inbound trucks, monitor open dock doors during loading, and oversee special projects during peak season.
• South dock: Count pallets for inbound trucks, monitor special projects during peak season, send and receive emails, type truck information, monitor open dock doors, and open/close dock doors.
• Metal detector / X-ray: Check devices in and out (only approved devices with sticker or paperwork allowed); ensure visitors clear through X-ray, watch X-ray machine for prohibited items, and prevent prohibited items from entering the building.
• Tracker: Track all high-value loads via computer software.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years of age
• High school degree or equivalent
• Professional demeanor and appearance
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to multitask and prioritize assigned tasks
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Minimum one year of customer service experience
• Minimum one year of security experience
• Ability to pass pre-employment screening (background and drug test)
• Physical capability for occasional crawling, crouching, climbing stairs, kneeling, running, sitting, standing, stooping, and walking for extended periods
• Commitment to the posted schedule: Saturday–Wednesday, 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
