Unarmed Security Officer
KMSC Security, LLC is seeking dependable and professional Florida Class “D” Licensed Unarmed Security Officers for full-time and part-time assignments.
About the Role
Security Officers are responsible for protecting client personnel, visitors, property, and assets while maintaining a visible security presence. Officers must be able to work independently, follow post orders, document activity, and respond appropriately to incidents.
Shifts may include day, evening, overnight, weekends, and holidays. Some assignments operate 24/7 based on client needs.
Employment Status
- Full-Time: Approximately 40 hours per week. May include weekdays, weekends, nights, and holidays. Overtime may be available based on operational needs.
- Part-Time: Scheduled based on post availability. May include regular, weekend, holiday, or fill-in shifts. Flexible availability is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a visible security presence
- Monitor assigned areas and report concerns
- Control access to facilities when required
- Conduct foot and/or vehicle patrols
- Monitor gates, entrances, buildings, parking areas, and CCTV systems
- Report suspicious activity, safety hazards, and security issues
- Respond to incidents and emergencies appropriately
- Complete daily activity and incident reports
- Follow post orders and company procedures
- Provide professional customer service to clients, staff, and visitors
Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Hold a valid Florida Class “D” Security Officer License
- Have a valid Florida driver’s license if required by post
- Have reliable transportation
- Possess a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Pass required pre-employment screening
- Communicate effectively in English (verbal and written)
- Produce clear and accurate written reports
- Be dependable, punctual, and detail-oriented
Background Check & Drug Screening
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of pre-employment screening, which may include:
- Criminal background check
- Motor vehicle record (MVR) review if driving is required
- Pre-employment drug screening
- Verification of licensing and credentials
Employees must maintain eligibility to work as licensed security officers under Florida requirements.
Physical Requirements
- Stand, sit, and walk for extended periods
- Perform regular foot patrols
- Navigate stairs and uneven surfaces
- Work indoors and outdoors
- Work in Florida weather conditions
- Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds when required
Schedule & Attendance
KMSC Security operates 24/7 depending on client needs. Shifts may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Punctual and reliable attendance is required
- Officers must report in proper uniform and be ready for full shift duty
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior security, military, corrections, law enforcement, or public safety experience
- Customer service experience
- CPR/AED/First Aid certification
- Experience with:
- Access control systems
- CCTV monitoring
- Patrol operations
- Electronic reporting systems
