About the role
IronRock Security is seeking a reliable and experienced unarmed security officer to join our team at a Wawa location in East Orange, NJ.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of the interior and exterior of the Wawa premises to ensure the safety and security of the property.
- Monitor surveillance equipment and alarms to detect and respond to any suspicious activities or incidents.
- Provide assistance to customers and employees as needed, maintaining a courteous and professional demeanor at all times.
- Report any security breaches, safety hazards, or unusual incidents to appropriate authorities and supervisors.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, as well as state regulations regarding security operations.
Requirements
- Previous experience in security or law enforcement preferred.
- Valid New Jersey Security Officer Registration Act (SORA) license.
- Able to stand for long periods of time.
- Excellent observational and communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Reliable transportation is a must.
Pay
$17–19/hour
