Unarmed Security Officer

About the role

Excelsior Defense is seeking a professional unarmed Security Officer to protect our client’s premises, assets, and personnel at OHA Housing Authority. The selected individual will maintain a high-visibility presence through patrolling and securing the property, with the goal of detecting, deterring, observing, and reporting. Responsibilities include access control, conducting rounds, scanning various points throughout the property, and ensuring a safe environment in a professional and polite manner.

Responsibilities

• Control access onto the property
• Conduct foot patrols of the property
• Monitor premises to prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules
• Thoroughly examine doors, windows, and gates to ensure proper function and security
• Warn violators of premise rules and regulations
• Apprehend or expel persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts
• Report any facility issues such as fire hazards and leaking water pipes
• Request emergency personnel for high-risk situations
• Complete hourly written reports and scans of the property

Requirements

• Valid D Security License (must be active)
• Ability to operate detecting systems and emergency equipment
• Detailed report writing skills
• Integrity and professionalism
• Surveillance skills and attention to detail
• Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols
• Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, and overnights

Proven work experience as a security officer or in a relevant position is preferred but not required, as we are willing to train the right candidate.

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday
9:00 PM to 5:00 AM

$18.18 per hour
