Requirements

• Minimum 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Completed Security Guard Act training and possess a valid NYSDOS photo I.D.
• New York State Photo Driver License.
• Fire Guard certification from the New York City Fire Department.
• Able to stand or walk for a consecutive eight-hour shift.
• Able to climb stairs.
• Able to lift and carry objects similar to a fire extinguisher (up to 25 lbs).
• Able to assist persons requiring aid or assistance.
• Adequate eyesight for visual ID checks.
• Proficient in typing and computer skills.
• Valid TSA TWIC card.
• OSHA certified and completed 10-hour Occupational Safety and Health Training course.
• Possess two years of relevant experience: military service, National Guard/Military Reserve, NYSDOS security guard, or police/probation/corrections officer.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior military experience on active duty with an honorable discharge (DD214).
• Two years’ experience as a member of the National Guard or Military Reserves.
• Two years full-time experience as a NYSDOS registered New York State security guard.
• Two years full-time experience as a Police Officer, Probation Officer, or Corrections Officer.

Pay

$18.00 - $20.00 per hour.

Schedule

8 hour shift, Day shift, Evening shift, Night shift, On call, Overnight shift, Holidays, Weekend availability.
