UN Women Programme Analyst, WPS International PPSA8, Homebased

About the role

The Programme Analyst provides programme support to the effective management of UN Women programs in the Syrian Arab Republic. They contribute to the development of program strategies in the area of Women Peace and Security (WPS), provide technical support for the implementation and management of the WPS program, and engage in various aspects of program monitoring and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Contribute technically to the development of program strategies in the area of Women Peace and Security (WPS)
• Provide technical inputs to the design and formulation of program/project proposals and initiatives related to Women Peace and Security
• Coordinate monitoring and reporting for WPS in collaboration with program teams
• Support the implementation and management of the WPS program
• Provide technical support to project/programme partners
• Maintain progress on program activity, results and indicators
• Monitor the implementation of proposals by responsible partners
• Provide inputs to quarterly reports, donor reports and other reports on outputs, results outputs and outcomes
• Monitor budget implementation and program activity expenditures and perform budget revisions when required
• Provide inputs to financial reports
• Oversee the work of Programme Associates and Assistants as needed
• Contribute to building partnerships and resource mobilization strategies
• Provide technical inputs to inter-agency coordination on WPS to achieve coherence and alignment of UN Women programs with other partners in the Syrian Arab Republic
• Provide technical support to the Head of Office on inter-agency coordination related activities by providing inputs to background reports and briefs
• Provide technical inputs to advocacy, knowledge building and communication efforts

Requirements

At least 1 year of relevant work experience in development program/project implementation, coordination, monitoring and evaluation, donor reporting and capacity building is required. Experience in the WPS is desirable. Experience coordinating and liaising with government agencies and/or donors is desirable. Experience working or supporting Arab States region is desirable.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or equivalent in social sciences, human rights, gender/women’s studies, international development, or a related field is required.
• A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
