About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Vascular Sonographer to join our team at Cardiovascular Specialists of New England. In this per diem role, you will prepare patients for scans, operate ultrasound equipment, and collaborate with physicians to review vascular images. You will interpret sonograms accurately, provide excellent patient care, and demonstrate acute attention to detail while adjusting exams based on clinical scenarios.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and update patients' medical records.
• Ensure the lab, examination rooms, tools, and equipment are properly sterilized and maintained.
• Prepare patients for ultrasound examinations.
• Operate and maintain ultrasound and plethysmography equipment.
• Perform sonographic examinations on patients to develop vascular images.
• Generate analytical reports and documentation from sonogram results.
• Assist physicians with reviewing and interpreting ultrasound images.
• Perform administrative tasks such as managing patient schedules and filing diagnostic reports.
• Stay up to date with the latest advancements in sonography technology and techniques.

Requirements

• Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) through American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-2 years of working experience as a Vascular Sonographer.
• Ability to perform vein ablations.
• Preference for candidates with both Vascular and Echo experience.
• BLS/ACLS Certification and RVT certification required.

• Attention to detail to identify abnormalities in sonograms.
• Hand-eye coordination to adjust ultrasound transducer movement based on real-time images.
• Technical and analytical skills to troubleshoot diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to work well under pressure, including in emergency situations.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration with the medical team.
• Medical knowledge, including a strong understanding of anatomy, to produce accurate images.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team.
