No matter what.” ________________________________________ The Ultrasound Trainer supports the development of highly skilled ultrasound staff by delivering education, coaching, and hands-on clinical training that promotes safe, high-quality reproductive healthcare. This role partners closely with the Senior Ultrasound Trainer to facilitate onboarding, competency development, continuing education, and quality improvement initiatives across the affiliate. The Ultrasound Trainer provides direct patient care, conducts classroom, virtual, and hands-on training, supports competency validation efforts, and serves as a clinical resource for staff learning and development. This position helps foster a culture of continuous learning, patient-centered care, and professional growth while supporting Planned Parenthood Great Plains' mission and values. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Clinical Excellence & Patient Care Provides direct patient care and performs ultrasound examinations in accordance with affiliate standards, clinical protocols, and regulatory requirements.Maintains proficiency in obstetric and gynecologic ultrasound practices.Ensures high-quality imaging, documentation, and patient-centered care.Serves as a clinical resource for ultrasound staff and trainees.Supports quality patient care through adherence to established clinical standards. Education, Training & Staff Development Delivers classroom, virtual, simulation-based, and hands-on ultrasound training for new hires and existing staff.Partners with the Senior Ultrasound Trainer to implement affiliate-wide ultrasound education and competency programs.Provides one-on-one coaching, mentorship, and skill development support.Supports onboarding, annual competency validation activities, remediation efforts, and continuing education initiatives.Assists with development and maintenance of training materials, educational resources, and learning activities.Reinforces ultrasound standards, workflows, and best practices through ongoing education and coaching.Assists with facilitating simulation-based learning and competency practice sessions. Quality Assurance & Program Management Supports competency assessments, image reviews, quality audits, and improvement activities.Maintains training completion records, competency documentation, and educational tracking tools.Identifies individual and team learning opportunities and communicates training needs to the Senior Ultrasound Trainer.Provides coaching and educational support related to quality review findings and competency development.Participates in quality improvement initiatives designed to strengthen staff competency and patient care outcomes. Affiliate Support & Collaboration Co-facilitates ultrasound community meetings and educational forums alongside the Senior Ultrasound Trainer.Collaborates with Health Center Managers, providers, and clinical leaders to support staff development needs.Provides onsite and virtual training support throughout the affiliate.Travels as needed to support training, coaching, and operational needs.Promotes a positive learning environment that supports collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. Equipment & Operational Oversight Assists staff with basic ultrasound equipment operation and troubleshooting.Supports ultrasound equipment readiness and proper care practices.Reinforces equipment cleaning, maintenance, and operational standards.Reports equipment concerns to the Senior Ultrasound Trainer and appropriate leadership.Other duties as assigned. Qualifications REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Three or more years of ultrasound experience.Demonstrated proficiency in obstetric and gynecologic ultrasound.Strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.Ability to provide constructive feedback and support adult learning.Experience in reproductive healthcare and abortion care preferred.Ability to travel throughout the affiliate as needed. Preferred Education And Experience Five or more years of ultrasound experience.Previous experience serving as a preceptor, trainer, or clinical educator.Experience supporting competency validation and quality improvement activities.RDMS certification preferred.Experience working in reproductive and sexual healthcare settings.
