Ultrasound Tech, Radiology Services Department, Part-Time Days

About the role

Beacon Health System is hiring a part-time day shift Ultrasound Tech in our Radiology Services Department at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, IN.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic medical sonography including abdomen, OB/GYN, small parts, as well as vascular sonography.
• Occasionally scans in interventional radiology and surgery.
• Follows protocols, policies, and procedures as directed by the radiologist and/or supervising technologist.
• Ensures quality patient care is provided.
• Performs all ultrasound examinations according to departmental protocols, policies, and procedures while ensuring quality patient care.
• Obtains relevant clinical history and communicates with referring physicians and healthcare staff; provides phone reports when indicated.
• Explains procedures and involves patients in their care.
• Prepares and uploads images to PACS.
• Completes worksheets and reporting templates accurately for the reading radiologist.
• Accurately tracks time, attendance, PTO, holidays, and call (including timely corrections in systems).
• Cleans, maintains, and reports issues with equipment.
• Completes additional job-related duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• The knowledge, skills, and abilities as indicated below are normally acquired through the successful completion of ARDMS or ARRT (S).
• ARDMS or ARRT (S) is required to maintain position.
• Abdomen, OB/GYN and RVT certifications are preferred.
• Six months ultrasound experience is preferred.

Skills

• Familiarity with ultrasound equipment.
• Strong understanding of human anatomy and cross-sectional imaging.
• Basic clinical skills and knowledge of sterile techniques.

Pay

$5,000 sign-on bonus one-time (not base pay)
