Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound and DXA bone density examinations that meet department standards for quality and quantity.
- Assist radiologists in ultrasound-guided biopsy procedures.
- Assess problem areas in the department and collaborate with radiology supervisory personnel to find timely solutions.
- Stay current with new procedures and advancements in ultrasound through continued education.
- Perform quality assurance work for the ultrasound department.
- Ensure quarterly preventive maintenance is completed on equipment.
- Seek innovative approaches to improve efficiency and quality of work in the ultrasound department.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient records.
- Ensure cleanliness of ultrasound equipment in examination rooms according to department standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Knowledge of growth and development and clinical expertise for patients of all ages, including child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric.
- Graduate of an approved school of ultrasonography.
- Registered Sonographer in good standing with ARRT or ARDMS.
- Solid background in all areas of ultrasonography, particularly OB-GYN, peripheral vascular examination, and abdominal ultrasonography.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and apply patient history to exams.
- Good understanding of cross-sectional anatomy.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Must pass background and drug test screenings.
