Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of specialized technical tasks in Diagnostic Ultrasound.
- Assist medical and professional personnel in detecting anatomical abnormalities.
- Assist in the delivery of personalized, professional, and quality patient care, internal and external customer service.
- Perform all Ultrasound examinations.
- Transport patients to and from Imaging Services.
- Prepare all departmental paperwork.
- Answer the department’s telephone.
- Schedule patients.
- Enter and retrieve patient information from the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and Hospital Information System (HIS).
- Maintain the work area in a clean and organized manner.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technology Program.
- Registered or registry eligible by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or an equivalent.
- With successful completion of certification within 6 months of hire.
- BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
Preferred Job Requirements
- Previous employment as an Ultrasound Technologist.
Pay
Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education, and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
