About the role
Under the general supervision of the Director of Radiology, the technologist operates imaging equipment to safely produce diagnostic images of various anatomical body parts for evaluation and interpretation by the radiologist. The technologist is expected to function within the scope of approved policies, procedures, and regulations for the Radiology Department and SMRMC Health Systems.
Must be able to assist with orientation, preceptorship, and management of personnel assigned to the unit.
Responsibilities
- Operate imaging equipment to produce diagnostic images.
- Work and relate professionally with peers, physicians, administration, patients, and visitors.
- Adhere to Radiology Department and SMRMC Health Systems policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Assist with orientation, preceptorship, and management of assigned personnel.
Schedule
- Assigned 80 hours per pay period or PRN hours as determined by the Director of Radiology.
- Must work rotating shifts, including on-call hours.
Requirements
- Attendance at yearly mandatory education sessions is non-negotiable; the technologist/employee is responsible for arranging and attending these sessions.
