Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations
- Prepare patients and explain procedures
- Obtain diagnostic-quality images of internal anatomy and vasculature
- Perform studies that may include:
- Abdomen
- Retroperitoneum
- Small parts
- Gynecology
- Male pelvis
- OB/GYN
- Breast sonography
- Vascular imaging
- Assist with or support breast biopsy procedures where applicable
- Evaluate studies for image quality and technical accuracy
- Document results and workflow information in VA systems
- Maintain equipment and infection-control requirements
- Communicate professionally with patients, radiologists, clinical staff, and referring providers
Requirements
- RDMS certification through ARDMS, appropriate to the services performed (abdomen, breast, and/or OB/GYN)
- For vascular work, RVT certification through ARDMS is required
- Minimum 3 years of applicable advanced imaging experience
- Current BLS certification
- Ability to perform assigned studies independently
- Ability to complete VA credentialing and onboarding requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with the following equipment:
- Philips EPIQ 7
- Hologic
- Siemens
- Experience with vascular studies including:
- Upper/lower extremity venous
- Carotid
- ABI / segmental pressures
- Aorta
- Renal artery
- Lower extremity arterial
- Stents and bypasses
