Responsibilities
- Performs Ultrasound procedures according to established protocol to obtain diagnostic information as ordered by a licensed physician or their designated health care provider.
- Provides information to the patient about the purpose of the ultrasound procedure and responds to the patient's questions and concerns.
- Recognizes the patient's individuality and provides quality care in a non-judgmental and non-discriminatory manner using professional and ethical judgment.
- Maintains continued competence through lifelong learning, which includes continuing education, acquisition of specialty specific credentials, and recredentialing.
- Imaging across the spectrum of sonography in the department of Radiology.
Schedule
- Two – eight hour shifts (7:30am-4:00pm)
- Two – twelve hour shifts weekly.
- Hours: two -(12 hours) 7:00am-7:30pm or 10:30am-11:00pm
- Every 4th weekend includes holiday rotation and weekday call rotation
Basic Qualifications
- Post High School Diploma
- BLS Certification
- American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) (OB or AB and RVT) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) RT(S) and RT(VS)
- ARDMS OR ARRT (S) if hired as a new graduate, must achieve Vascular Certification within 24 months of graduation.
- ARDMS or ARRT (S) hired as a experienced sonographer with 2 years or more experience must achieve Vascular certification within 12 months of hire.
