About the Role
We are looking for a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures while ensuring high-quality imaging, patient safety, and compassionate care to support accurate diagnoses and clinical decision making.
Responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of ultrasound diagnostic procedures in accordance with departmental protocols.
- Position and instruct patients to obtain optimal images while ensuring safety and comfort.
- Operate ultrasound equipment and evaluate images for diagnostic quality.
- Correlate clinical history with ordered procedures to ensure proper exam selection.
- Prepare patients for procedures and minimize anxiety through clear communication.
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered care across all age populations.
- Adhere to safety, infection-control, and regulatory standards.
- Maintain compliance with accrediting organizations (Joint Commission, CMS, ACR, etc.).
- Document procedures and maintain PACS and electronic records accurately.
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other team members.
- Assist with training of ultrasound students as appropriate.
- Maintain certifications, continuing education, and required licensure.
- Participate in department meetings and performance improvement initiatives.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited Ultrasound program (required).
- ARDMS (American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers) certification (required).
- Preferred: 1–2 years of ultrasonography experience.
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in a health-related field.
- Strong knowledge of ultrasound imaging techniques and cross-sectional anatomy.
- Must be proficient in abdominal, ob/gyn, small parts, & breast.
- Experience in interventional radiology to include paracentesis and thoracentesis preferred.
- Excellent communication and patient-care skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
