About the Role
Performs both obstetrical and gynecological ultrasound examinations including the biometry and anatomy survey. Works collaboratively and under the direction of Board-Certified Obstetrician/Gynecologists and Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners.
Responsibilities
- Performs ultrasound examinations of patients.
- Assists with ultrasound-guidance during in-office procedures as needed and requested by providers. Procedures may include but are not limited to: Sonohysterograms, Essure, Novasure, and IUD placements.
- Promotes good public relations between patients, family members, clinic, hospital, and community by fostering a friendly, positive, encouraging, and sympathetic atmosphere.
- Communicates to patient constantly, in lay language, on the status of the examination/procedure, always maintaining patient's confidence.
- May provide portable examinations at bedside as requested by attending physicians.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Successful completion of a two-year certified sonographer course.
- ARDMS-certified in obstetrics and gynecology within two years of hire.
- Current Healthcare Provider BLS certification by date of hire.
Qualifications
- ARDMS-certified in obstetrics and gynecology (desired).
- 1 year of experience in an ultrasound setting (desired).
- 6 months experience in OB and GYN ultrasound (desired).
- 1st Trimester Nuchal Translucency Certified (desired).
