Ukrainian In-Person Interpreter

Position Overview

The Ukrainian In-Person Interpreter is responsible for facilitating onsite communication for Limited English Proficient (LEP) community and the practitioners that serve them in a variety of settings. This contract position is flexible and an opportunity to expand your interpreting business with access to many sessions per day.

Qualifications

• Fluent and have strong verbal communication skills in both the source and target language (Ukrainian to English and vice-a-versa).
• Excellent listening and retention skills to maintain a high level of accuracy during interpretation.
• Successful completion of a proficiency assessment or have a national certification.
• Extensive knowledge of code of ethics and standards of practice (IMIA, NBCMI and NCIHC).
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to read and write in the requested languages.
• Degree or certifications in interpreting practices.
• National Medical Interpreter Certification by CCHI, NBCMI or DSHS.
• Accredited Medical Interpreting Training course (i.e.: ALTA, MITS, Bridging the Gap, MiTio, Cross-Cultural training, 40-hour accredited medical courses).

Pay Range

$35 - $50 per hour
