UIUX Designer

Job Overview

Usability testing: Plan and run usability tests for web apps and Boston.gov pages (e.g. AI Search, Boston.gov/Permitting).

UI design and prototyping: Translate requirements into high-fidelity, accessible prototypes in Figma.

Design system contributions: Document components and contribute new patterns to the Boston Design System.

Collaboration: Synthesize data and research to guide decisions and translate findings into accessible, intuitive UI.

Experience

3-4 years of experience in digital product and service design

Public Sector

Experience in government or similar organizational environments

Technical Expertise

Expert in Figma, agile workflows, and WCAG accessibility standards, proficient in Miro and other digital collaboration tools

Skills

Strong facilitator, systems thinker, and ability to advocate for user-centered design in complex organizations.
