About the role
The University’s NAGPRA Office is recruiting a qualified Postdoctoral Researcher.
Responsibilities
- Lab identification, documentation, and interpretation of funerary and other objects in the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign collections relevant to NAGPRA compliance.
- Collection and compilation of records related to these collections.
- Affixing updates to existing collection inventory.
- Supervision of undergraduate student employees.
Requirements
This is a full-time, 2-year position with potential for annual extensions contingent on performance and funding.
Qualifications
- PhD in Anthropology or a closely related field.
- Experience with NAGPRA regulations and protocols.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
