UiPath RPA Developer / Technical Lead

Location & Duration

Chicago, IL / Dallas, TX – 6 months

Experience Requirements

• 10‑12+ years of overall experience in programming and RPA
• 6‑8+ years of hands‑on RPA experience
• Minimum 6 years designing, developing, and deploying multiple RPA automations/bots
• Strong hands‑on experience with UiPath
• Experience working as an individual contributor as well as part of an RPA development team
• Experience providing technical guidance and mentoring to developers
• Experience leading RPA development and delivery efforts

Core Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy RPA automations using UiPath
• Develop new automation solutions and enhance existing automations
• Collaborate with business users, process owners, developers, infrastructure teams, and other stakeholders
• Independently manage RPA development projects or serve as the sole RPA developer/modeler when required
• Review code and recommend technical improvements
• Provide technical guidance and support to RPA developers
• Develop and document RPA configuration and development best practices
• Build workflows that are efficient, structured, maintainable, reusable, and easy to understand
• Analyze business processes and identify automation opportunities
• Define RPA value propositions and recommend automation strategies
• Re‑engineer processes to improve automation potential and conduct high‑level RPA assessments
• Create and document test procedures and scenarios for pre‑UAT activities
• Support operational teams during UAT and production rollout
• Monitor automation performance, KPIs, and overall solution health
• Review process documentation, including scorecards, process definitions, solution design documents, and user documentation
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and adoption of RPA best practices
• Manage and administer UiPath Orchestrator, licenses, robots, and automation environments across global business units
• Coordinate end‑to‑end implementation with process owners, developers, and IT teams
• Ensure solutions comply with governance standards and established processes
• Participate in an on‑call rotation as required
• Provide technical training and guidance to RPA teams
• Lead and assign projects to RPA team members to ensure timely and quality delivery
• Organize RPA training, webinars, and knowledge‑sharing activities

Required Technical Skills

• UiPath / Intelligent Automation: UiPath development and implementation, Orchestrator and robot administration, workflow design, solution architecture and design
• AI & Cloud: Azure AI, Azure AI Foundry, understanding of SaaS, IaaS, and PaaS
• Programming: Python, C#, C, VB.NET, .NET, SQL, object‑oriented programming and design principles
• Integration & Web Technologies: REST APIs, SOAP web services, web technologies, service‑oriented architecture
• Development & Engineering: GitHub/code repository tools, SDLC methodologies, Agile and Scrum, iterative development, rapid prototyping, system performance monitoring and optimization
• Automation Environments: Desktop applications, web applications, Citrix, Salesforce, Microsoft applications, mainframe and legacy systems

Solution Design & Architecture

• Translate business requirements and architectural direction into scalable UiPath solutions
• Create Solution Design Documents (SDDs)
• Apply best practices around modularity, reliability, maintainability, reusability, and scalability
• Define and manage technical requirements
• Identify effective solution approaches within the UiPath environment
• Ensure optimal automation performance and adherence to specifications

• Healthcare insurance industry experience
• Additional UiPath or programming certifications
• Experience with multiple automation environments
• Experience managing global RPA deployments

Education & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of Information Technology experience; OR
• Technical certification and/or college coursework with 6+ years of IT experience; OR
• 8+ years of Information Technology experience
• 3+ years of RPA development experience and 6+ years of overall IT experience, where applicable
• 2+ years of hands‑on programming experience in .NET, Java, C/C#, VB, Python, SQL, web services, or related technologies
