The University of Connecticut Police Department, located in Farmington (UCH), is seeking a Certified Police Officer.

About the role

The successful candidate will serve as a law enforcement officer providing security and safety services to the University of Connecticut campus. Responsibilities include patrolling, responding to calls, conducting investigations, and enforcing laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned areas to ensure public safety and enforce laws and regulations.
• Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls for service.
• Conduct investigations and gather evidence as necessary.
• Provide security and assistance to students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
• Participate in training programs and professional development activities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Connecticut driver’s license.
• Successful completion of a police academy program.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Physical fitness to perform the duties of a police officer.

Qualifications

• Experience in law enforcement preferred.
• Knowledge of traffic control, first aid, and emergency response procedures.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Skills

• Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in computer systems and software.
