The University of Connecticut Police Department, located in Farmington (UCH), is seeking a Certified Police Officer.
About the role
The successful candidate will serve as a law enforcement officer providing security and safety services to the University of Connecticut campus. Responsibilities include patrolling, responding to calls, conducting investigations, and enforcing laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Patrol assigned areas to ensure public safety and enforce laws and regulations.
- Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls for service.
- Conduct investigations and gather evidence as necessary.
- Provide security and assistance to students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
- Participate in training programs and professional development activities.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Connecticut driver’s license.
- Successful completion of a police academy program.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Physical fitness to perform the duties of a police officer.
Qualifications
- Experience in law enforcement preferred.
- Knowledge of traffic control, first aid, and emergency response procedures.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Skills
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in computer systems and software.
