Qualifications
- MUST BE FULLY VACCINATED
- 12 core unit classes with a grade of C or better are required. (child development, child-family-community, curriculum)
- Work experience in a licensed childcare facility as a teacher.
- Pleasant/friendly demeanor and an outgoing personality.
- Must meet basic requirements of local child care regulatory agency (Title 22) including immunization, health screening, fingerprinting and background check.
- Must be able to lift up 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergencies.
Job Responsibilities
- Supervises and manages daily functions for a class of children in a teacher
- Teachers should be able to assess each child's developmental needs on an ongoing basis
- The teacher provides an attractive, well-kept classroom that encourages creativity, exploration, and decision-making by the children
- The teacher ensures that all class bulletin boards are current and provides the parents with an overview of the material taught in class
- Accepts responsibility for maintenance and necessary housekeeping duties of the classroom, common use areas, and playgrounds
- Assists and coordinates snacks, meals, naptime, and bathroom activities
- Attends all required staff meetings, workshops, and/or school functions as determined by the Director
- Observe all rules and regulations about the health, safety, and care of children
- Maintains a professional personal appearance, attitude, and work behavior at all times
- Plans with Education Coach and implements the approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedule using the Primrose School curriculum outlines and materials
- Plans with the Director all required parent-teacher conferences and student evaluations
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Able to work on iPad to log children's daily activities
- Able to work on iPad to enter children's daily logs, and write incident reports and messages to parents
- Lift/carry children up to 30 lbs
- Emergency evacuation response
- Frequent standing, bending, kneeling
- Maintaining staff-to-child ratios
- Compliance with CA licensing
