Two- Bus Drivers

Qualifications

• Valid school bus license with appropriate endorsements
• On-going First-aid CPR training
• Adequate body strength and full range of arms and legs to operate all mechanical equipment
• Passes yearly DOT physical examination
• Passes alcohol and drug tests
• Such additional health and age requirements as the School Committee may require

Job Goal

To provide safe and efficient transportation so that students may enjoy the fullest possible advantages from the district’s curriculum and extracurricular program.

Performance Responsibilities

• Obeys all traffic laws
• Observes all mandatory safety regulations for school buses
• Adheres to all state laws and School Board policies governing the operation of school buses
• Does pre-trip inspections each day and gives completed forms to the Trip/Route Coordinator at the end of each week
• Enforces all school bus rules and regulations
• Transports only authorized students
• Maintains discipline when students are on the bus
• Reports discipline problems to the school office and fills out appropriate incident reports
• Adheres to assigned schedule and route
• Discharges students only at appropriate authorized stops
• Transports students to and from extracurricular activities as designated by the Trip/Route Coordinator
• Exercises responsible leadership when on school trips
• Maintains a clean bus inside and outside
• Reports all accidents and completes required reports
• Notifies the proper authority in case of mechanical failure or lateness
• Attends workshops and training pertaining to transportation
• Performs such other duties as may be assigned by the Trip/Route Coordinator or Director of Operations
