Twister Operator

About the role

Operate the twister machine to twist packages of yarn according to the operator training manual and safety standards. This position adds value by achieving the highest level of production, quality, and safety while preparing yarn received from the doubler to be twisted into an end product and shipped.

Responsibilities

• Follow company policies and safe work practices to prevent injury to yourself and other associates
• Report any unsafe work condition or work-related injury to your supervisor immediately
• Start-up machines after lot change or cleaning
• Obtain packages of doubled yarn from rack and place them into pots
• Repair end breaks and splice ends
• Doff packages and remove waste from spindle supply disc
• Mark cones with assigned color
• Perform quality checks and recognize potential quality and productivity problems
• Flag any damaged machinery and document in flag notebook located at computer desk

Experience

Should take 2 months for someone to learn and become proficient at this job.

Work Environment

• Textile Manufacturing Plant environment
• High noise level work area
• Ability to walk and stand for extended periods
• Ability to stoop, bend, stretch, push, and pull
• Physical effort consisting of constant use of hands
• Lifting and moving packages ranging from 5 to 10 pounds

Schedule

This is a 12-hour night shift position (7 PM – 7 AM), with 36–48 hours per week.
